What is the KCBR?
Chartered since 1946, the Knox County Board of Realtors® (KCBR) is comprised with approximately 140 members including Brokers, Realtors and Affiliate members. KCBR is a non-profit trade organization for Realtors® and real estate affiliated members. KCBR is a professional organization for real estate professionals who sell real property and for businesses that work in or with the real estate industry. KCBR owns and operates the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) of Knox County which is an extensive database of homes for sale in Knox and surrounding counties.
KCBR is maintained by an Association Executive (AE) and a seven-member Board of Directors (BOD's). Voted by the General Membership, the BOD's meet once a month to discuss headline real estate matters that may or may not affect the home owner, potential home owner or its members. The AE serves as the liaison between its Board of Directors, Members, the Ohio Association of Realtors® and the National Association of Realtors®.
Above all else, the Executive Officer will ensure that all Core Standards set forth by the National Association of REALTORS will be met by any means necessary to ensure that KCBR remains a recognized Association by the National Association of REALTORS® on its own merit until otherwise decided by the General Membership.
Realtor® members work within the Code of Ethics, prescribed by the National Association of Realtors® (NAR) and annually are offered the Code of Ethics class offered by the KCBR. KCBR and its Members continually strive to exceed all expectations while serving the public at the highest level of professionalism knowing that wise buyers and sellers don’t want to be sold, they want to be informed.
In addition to utilizing our MLS system, being a member of our board also affords one the opportunity to be a part of the community and join us for our annual Christmas party & golf outing-where we raise RPAC funds as well as money for Food for the Hungry; attend any continuing education classes we may offer-usually free, advertise in the board sponsored home magazine, join us in our Consumer Advocacy outreach campaign that goes on all year long- that also helps cover the new NAR Core Standards Certificate such as: donate/participate with charities such as Food for the Hungry, Habitat for Humanity, Toys for Tots etc. just to name a few perks. This also allows you to join us for our semi-monthly meetings, where you can meet your fellow board members and make announcements. We also offer training for new and existing members and we offer a service through ZipForms on having a digital signature called Digital Ink (as a perk for being a board member the board pays for this service). Another free perk for you is Realtors Property Resource™ (RPR) & RESO. It’s free to you as a board member on behalf of the Knox County Board of Realtors!
KCBR provides a variety of services to its members including education, insurance, and legislative representation, as well as membership in the OAR and NAR.
